Fireplace boxes

Fireplace Boxes

A fireplace box is the fire chamber itself, made to order: an ethanol firebox in the viewing form the room needs, across a published width range of 800–3000mm.

What the firebox family covers: fireplace boxes

The firebox is the chamber the flame lives in, supplied as a made-to-order construction rather than a finished appliance. A buyer orders a box when the form of the fire is the design decision: one face to a room, two faces across a divider, a through-view between rooms, or a flame that turns a corner. The burner and its fuel system sit inside the box; the box decides what the rooms around it see.

Four forms organise the family: single-sided, double-sided, tunnel and corner. They are construction types, not styles — the same project can hold two forms in two rooms, and each form has its own detail page where its geometry and its confirmation points are taken in full.

The four firebox forms

Fireplace box forms
FormViewingTypical use
Single-sidedOne faceA feature wall in one room
Double-sidedTwo facesA divider between two seating areas
TunnelThrough viewBetween two rooms, seen from both
CornerWrapped viewA turn in the wall, or an open corner

Widths run across the published range for the family, from compact single-sided boxes to wide divider constructions. Within a form, width is the sizing decision; across forms, the viewing geometry is. An inquiry that states form and width per item has stated the product; everything else is configuration.

Boxes beside inserts

A firebox and an insert answer the same need from opposite ends. The insert is a finished appliance dropped into an opening; the box is a chamber built to a brief, with the burner specified into it. Projects with standard rooms take inserts; projects whose architecture is the point take boxes. Mixed orders are common, and the two groups should be kept visibly separate in the list, because their confirmation points differ.

Sorting a firebox list

Sort a firebox list by form first, then by width. State the viewing sides in words beside each item — the form names are short, and a written note removes any doubt about which construction is meant. Quantities sit beside each distinct configuration.
